Wire Splicing

What is the best way to hardwire into the aux port? Would it be soldering or simply just cutting the wires stripping them and connecting them?

Re: Wire Splicing

I always prefer using Scotchloks, they are quick, easy to install, and removable if necessary and I have never had any issues with them

Re: Wire Splicing

The best way would be to solder & heat shrink, keeping in mind that the wire from the AUX port to the HU is shielded and that you don't want to introduce any ground loops or you will get noise.

Re: Wire Splicing

Make sure that any grounds on any device spliced into the AUX wiring and any shield grounds go to the same ground as the HU.

For detailed info, go to www.bcae1.com and search the site for "ground loop"
