Re: 10 MINUTE SEAT LIFT! (Pics)

So are actually lifting the seats, or just making them more uncomfortable?

I might be missing something but your not actually changing pivot point of the seat, so aren't you just changing the angle at which they rest?

My head would be THROUGH the roof! LOL...As it is already, I can't even see when stoplights change to green. I have to lower my head down to look because I'm so tall. And I'm only 6'0"!

This is such a slight change in seat angle. You can't really tell the difference. Does not make the seat more uncomfortable what so ever. 1.5" more clearence for subs on the other hand is a huge difference. After you see what I will be doing with my sub that is 11" in diameter and 8" deep I think you will get the picture. This is about as controversial as the Titan not having room for amps.

I am 6'3". The rear head room is unchanged. When you sit in the back seat do the front of the seats touch the back of your legs? NO. This takes advantage of that space.

This is for the rear seat of a king cab, not the front seats. I dont know why you guys think this will make it harder to fit, its not that much of a change. But like P said, it will make a big difference!

Re: 10 MINUTE SEAT LIFT! (Pics)

The headroom would not change at all, since your not lifting the seat actually, just changing the angle at which your legs rest. to allow a larger opening for the sub in the front. It should work out great for fitting a 10" sub

I was just thinking that in the back of my KC its already so uncomfortable, the angle of the back of the seat in relation to the seat, that to alter that angle would make them even more uncomfortable.

I would be more inclined to removing the 40% seat and building something there that housed 2 12s, and a flat top to set stuff on etc, maybe some compartments to put stuff, etc, since I am so tall noone can sit behind me that seat is wasted anyway, might as well remove the seat all togeter, build the sub box you really want to build, and have some extra storage space.

Your sub box project sounds cool though, post pics when you are done.

I will second anyone who wants to remove a seat. GO FOR IT! I am doing Striders King Cab and we are removing the rear seat in its entirety.

Ahh I see front firing 10's, nice. makes sense now.

However like I said my seat barley latches already I can't just put it down I have to slam it down to get it to latch on the 40 side...Then again I agree it's probably not a big deal since it cmoes unlatched if I tug on the seat with hardly any pressure already.

I also agree that my 40 side is pretty much wasted, I have to move my seats way forward so anyone can sit back there and then their feet will be under the drivers seat probably kicking my amps once I make the rack.

Someone needs to install some Fi Q's under the rear seat of a KC forward firing

I was ordering an Fi Q10 to put under my rear seat but they failed to get back to me with detailed enclosure specs so I orderd a 2000 RMS Orion instead.

Well it's a bit late to give him the number now.

Yea I have all the luck, all the badluck...I jsut ordered D6's because of typos everywhere on the internet and now I find out they will not fit...Another $350 wasted on car audio that will sit in storage..I hope they cancel my order in time.

edit: I don't have the number I must have called AA, but I was emailing back and fourth with Scott.

Never received an email from Fi. I did the same thing with the Diamonds. I made a post about it stating they were too deep. Where did you get them? I am sure they will take them back but you will be out $50 for shipping.

The seller is supposed to ship them out tomarrow, I'm thinking to do somethign drastic like dispute payment on my credit card tonight to get his attention. Then again that might not get his attention anyways. Hopefully he checks his email before he ships...

I sent him a link to the thread.

Guess I could fit them in a forward firing box if I lift the seat. But the idea was to finish my install, not start all over again...

If you end up keeping the subs the D6's work best in 0.75-0.8 ft^3 gross.
