what is better for a sub box .. up or down draft

what is better for a sub box for under the back seats a up draft or down draft box

its a personal preference thing. upfiring you can egt alot more mounting depth. and more airspace. and to me just sound better than firing the subs into flooring

downfiring sounds nice if its done correctly. the problem is there really is now way to do it correctly unless you raise the seat or do a sub that takes only .50 of airspace.

Also upfiring gets louder. yes . louder. i have proven this with a meter. why. because you can fold the seat up and let the sub breath freely when you want do spl.

down draft is what i prefer in a paint booth if that helps.

I think if it's *just* rated on sound, up-firing is best...

*however*... These are trucks. And if anyone else is like me, I like to actually use my truck. That means I need to carry groceries, and throw gear in the back, and do all the other things that truck-owners do. As a result, the maintenance and worry-level with a *down* firing box is signifigantly less.

When I do my setup, I will be doing a down-firing box.

Thats exactly why I had Tech12 build me a DF box! It came out great!
