It's been out.....I'm sure TECH12VOLTS can get you one.... However, I'm not impressed with it......go for the 8017 instead.

Not bashing the 8019 would be plenty for most on here.......It's just that SQ wise the 25th Anniversary edition Kenwood units where the last true SQ units Kenwood has made......bummer!!!

Re: Kenwood DDX-8019, does anyone know the exact release date?

I am definetly getting an X019, I just don't know if I should get a 7019 or a 8019 (or the unit with built in nav I guess).

Whichever way I go I will be using a H701 (or similar) sound processor.... Can anyone sway my decision? Lizard what about using a kenwood 8019 + h701 for sq?

I would love that, but the alpine nav sucks compared to the kenwood, USB is an addon, instead of built on like the kenwood, and I prefer the new kenwood interface.

I wish I liked the w200, but the kenwood is more what I am looking for. The alpine can do everything the kenwood can (with add ons) but I just love the kenwood nav too much to go with any other brand. And don't you have to do a stupid switch trick (or buy a module) to trick the w200 into being parked?

Yep, you're right about the parking brake. Go to www.kenwoodusa.com and look at the manual for the DDX8019....Its full of bells and whistles but nothing for SQ...but if you have the H701 then you're good to go...

Re: Kenwood DDX-8019, does anyone know the exact release date?

I haven't seen either, but from what I have put together so far..

The 8019 has an extra set of inputs, and and extra USB... I believe it has more advanced SQ settings but haven't verified that yet. The 8019 is also an Excelon unit, so it will have a better warantee and supposedly be made with better components.

I have both manuals downloaded and I plan to read them both and see exactly what the differences are, I just haven't had a chance yet.

SQ is sound quality... I.E. which one sounds better and has more tuning options for sound guys to tweek.

Tech how much for the 8019 or the 8017? I'm probably going to go with the avic d3 just looking at other options.
