On a budget

what do you recommend for somone on a budget. i figured i would buy my box/subs from tech12volt. i have heard about the m3s. how much would it be for 2 12" m3's in a box. what amp? what mids? w/ 2 12s do i need a component tweeter package? and what is a inexpensive video H/U, preferably w/ nav, but not necessary. not a flip out, just one that sits in permanent. thanks in advance...

Re: On a budget

That's an interesting budget you have there...I wish I had your budget!

Do you have a Titan or the Explorer listed in your sig? As far as I know, 12s won't fit in a Titan without removing the back seat.

I would say the Pioneer Avic D3 for your head-unit, I believe tech sells those.

Also, you'll probably want a component setup, for at least the fronts. 6.5's in the door and the tweeters in either the factory location or in the A-pillars.

Oh, and I responded to the PM you sent me.

Good luck bud!

Re: On a budget

well, i'm pretty sure 12s fit. but the video head unit is not a must, i just wanted it so i can put a back up camera in my bumper. but i don't plan on getting this for awhile. this will come after the lift, exhaust, and intake. i can live w/ the rockford fosgate in the LE for a while...

i currently own an explorer, but will be getting a titan this summer

Ahh...planning ahead...good thinking!

I'm sure tech will chime in here but, no, 12s do not fit without taking the back-seat out, I know for a fact in a KC and I don't think I've seen 12s fit in an underseat box in a CC.

A couple 10" M3s would be gravy though.

Re: On a budget

oh ya. i'm a planning ahead kind of a guy. go in to the general titan discussion and check out my wish list and tell me what you think. i 12's dont fit in the CC, then i would like to go w/ 2 10" M3 in tec12volt box where he puts in the Titan logo, and the RF logo as well. that would be badass!!!!

Re: On a budget

I just asked Tech the same question, but you may want to wait until he chimes in just in case the price has change. Also, I think Nut is right, at least in the KC the depth of the box can be no more that 11", so it would be pretty hard to put a 12" sub in a 11" space...but hey I am not a box builder so who knows, maybe it will work.

Re: On a budget

m3 12s are too deep for a king cab and crew cab. The m3 10s would be a much better choice. As i tel evryone., If you can not afford what all you want all at one time. Buy one piece at a time of what you want. It saves you in the long run And plan and plan

Re: On a budget

I would upfire 2 10" Memphis subs Sealed or do 1 10" Ported. Run this off a Memphis PR amp or Sundown Audio. Pioneer AVIC-D3 is a great all around head unit for the price. I also recommend some 6.5" components up front. 6.5" in the front doors and tweets in the A-pillars or dash location. Tech can hook you up with everything you need. Let him package something together for you and you can't go wrong.

Go ahead and bother him. He is not a business man, he's an installer.
