Hardwired Zune device

This is my latest mod compliments of my new Zune and GRIM. What I have here is the ability to plug my Zune up via a cable in the storage area behind the cupholder. The Zune can then display its video through both the front monitor and the rear monitor as well as play its audio through the new stereo. The result is unbelievable. GRIM also installed a power switch to the front monitor in the event that "someone" sees me using the front monitor when I shouldn't be. The DVD player still plays through both monitors and its audio works through the stereo as well. It will only play when the Zune is either unplugged or powered down. Check it out.

Hey Vaughn,

you can get behind the panel and trim that hole for the relocated hazard switch. I had to do that when I had a kenwood in my dash. Kinda ticked me off as I ended up going back to stock, but what can you do? LOL

I'll get around to correcting that. I have a few things that need to be buttoned up on this mod. We basically just ran out of time.

Re: Hardwired Zune device

That's impressive. I'm starting to look at the iPod and Zune to move MP3s to a CarPC I'm putting in my Titan. Never really considered them before, but boy, are they really slick gadgets! I like the quality of the cable, looks very strong. Nice job you're doing there V. You're going to cost me a few hundred more!

I used a utility knife and cut a section out on Striders truck. For those that don't know 2 or 3 passes with a sharp blade usually cuts plastic very easily and clean. Took 5 minutes. Just don't cut any wires. The first dash kit he brought me was for an Armada with dual climate control and then the second was the Scosche which has not been updated like the Metra.
