Heres how to upgrade your stock 6.5" rear components and 6x9 front components

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

here are some pics on how to do-it-yourself installations on your rear and front speakers,... i only had time to do the rear speakers. tomorrow i will post up more pics on the installation of the front speakers if i have the chance to. enjoy!

1ST: first locate the plates you are going to have to install, note that 1 screw is hidden by the handle inside and you will have to pop off the 1 inch cover in front of it

2ND: pop off the plates usinf a flat head screwdriver with a thin point,.. a butter knife or a regular knife will do but is risky because of the thickness, you might scratch the plastic covers. now u can see the 1st screw

3RD: now when you pop off the main plate, you can now sccess the inner screw go ahead and remove it ,. make sure you keep all your screws,. you are gong to need them all later when reinstalling the door cover

4TH: unclip the window switch by pulling the clips located beside the swith its 2 of them and youll need to hold them both back so that you can take off the top cover,.. note that not all of the swith needs to be removed,.. just the top cover, its not hard at all just look at the sides of it. now the locking swith needs to be removed completely.. NOT THE DOOR HANDLE IT STAYS ON!!
Unclip the inner metal clip that hangs in it and its off! now theres one part i forgot to take a pic of but theres another cover on the bottom of the door cover, remove it and that allows you to get a good grip on the cover so that you can just pull it up and out starting with the bottom first pull the bottom out then follow yourself upwards pulling back little by little. once the door comes off you will have to unclip the door handle clip just like the locking clip this one is just a ball in the middle just follow the line out towards a plastic groove and unhook it. the tweeter has a harness that just needs to be unclipped its all uninstalled!!!

5TH: the speaker has just 3 screws,..unscrew and its off now on the top of it,.. it has the 2 wire harness that connects to the speaker on top ,.. you can unclip it then cut it off so that you can crimp new wire to the speaker.

NOW FOLLOW MY DIRECTIONS STARTING FROM THE BOTTOM UP TO REINSTALL THE DOOR COVER,.. the locking swith needs to be connected before reinstalling the door cover in. all you have to do when putting up the door cover is turn it sideways to pass it through and pop it back in place its only a 45min-1hr process with one person,. about 20-30 mins with 2.

this has been done all by myself, im not responsible for any misunderstandings , or anything you screw up,...i put the instructions as simple as possible so that it can help for all of you do-it-yourself guys if your up to a easy-medium task AND I DONT WORK FOR NISSAN EITHER. LOL

IVE USED KICKER KS COAXIAL SPEAKERS IN ALL MY VEHICLES AND THEY NEVER FAILED NOT ONCE! im running them all to a rockford fosgate 600 watt 4 channel amp

...Instead of removing the door panel and unhooking the cables, I tied a rope from the top of the window frame to the handle of the panel. Saves a bit of time and frustration.

How did you remove the Panel without Poping the armrest piece up? Thats the part that I broke when I did mine. Some fiberglass epoxy and it's all good though. The best way to remove it to use the palm of your hand and kinda smack the side of the armrest piece in an upward motion. Mine was in there too good and it broke on one side.

This is by far the best way to get the armrest up. just hit it with the palm of your hand straight up. If you try to pry it up the clips do not want to release.

Does he have an 04? My 04 didn't have to take off the armrest part either. One of the things I have to figure out how to fix with my new panels whenever I get them.

sorry i havent been on here in a bit but all you have to do when its all unbolted is to pull out the clips STARTING FROM THE BOTTOM AND WORKING YOUR WAY UP you use the armrest to hold it all so it wont fall

I am well aware of how to remove the door panel but thanks anyways. I was trying to offer possible insight into why he didn't have to remove the armrest.

Jason Yes. Take a look here: Tech12Volt comes through again
I just installed some Boston Pro60 comps and am running them off the RF amp untill I can pick up a Sundown 100.4.

I think Tech is still offering a deal on these. He has several options for comps on his website.

Take a look and PM him. He shoots straight in his answers.

Re: Heres how to upgrade your stock 6.5" rear components and 6x9 front components

Just wanted to drop a line to thank kha4079 for the great instructions. I had a blown 6.5" speaker in the passenger side rear door, and your pics and instructions were perfect!

Pulling a door panel apart and knowing what to expect while you're doing it sure was a nice change of pace.

Way to go man!
