sundown or boston subs?

I have seen both being very highly praised but am having a hard time choosing between the two. I am using a memphis belle that puts out around 1000 watts @ 1 ohm. At first I was just going to do 2 10s but a part of me wants to put 4 10s in there. I already have the amp mounted where the jack goes so it will not be taking up any potential air space for the subs. You guys have any opinions or thoughts on this? I am coming from 2 12" JL w6v2s and would like to keep something similar to it or more. Thanks as always.

Bostons need .5 per driver. The sundowns need more airspace and will not be out for a few months.

Re: sundown or boston subs?

I was actually looking at the sd-1v1 or are they totally out of stock now? Can you provide a subjective general opinion on them? I know you sell both and would greatly value anything you can share. Other than the bostons needing less space how do they sound compared to the sundowns? Because as of right now its a coin toss to me. I am going to be kind of taking a leap of faith.

Re: sundown or boston subs?

I was looking at the sundown website and it showed the sd-1 only available in 8 ohms, is this correct? So does this mean I would only be able to go as low 2ohms with 4 of them? This mean I have to go with Boston g1s in order to get down to 1ohm?

Re: sundown or boston subs?

Yeah the G1s and the SD1v1 are very similar, the sundown might be a hair more accurate but not enough that 99% of people will notice, at least from the systems I heard. Go with 4 G1s, I want to see the box!
