Factory AUX (MP3) Jack Wiring ????

I installed a Clarion NICE recently and now wish I would have wired to the audio out (it stores 10g MP3s) to the factory head unit. I saw when the radio bezel was off the 3 wires on the backside of the AUX input jack, I assume a common neg or ground and right an left + feed. Is that right? I dunno what to harm the head unit. I also cleverly forgot to see what the audio out jack was on the Clarion,. anyone know. (I guess maybe I could call them and ask the tech department). Has anyone done this, I really would rather not have to use the jumper or patch cable outside the dash.

Yes, it is a common ground, and a separate left and right channel. I hard wired to the back of the dash panel for my iPod, because I also didn't want the wire on the outside of the panel. I don't remember the wire colors, but I can look them up for you tonight when I have access to my manual.
