Battery upgrade question

I am in the process of putting a new battery in, and i have a quick question for those of you who have done it already.

I am trying to modify the OEM fuse connector so that i can run a short cable from the new battery to it, but I'm having difficulty removing the bolt (circled in the attached picture) in order to do so. Ive put a lot of force into it, and it budge at all. I'm afraid to put TOO much force on it as that OEM piece is all plastic and I'm afraid I will bust it.

Any tips or tricks from those who have done this modification?

Its an 08, and i dont know if its different than previous years

Re: Battery upgrade question

Hmmmm... It appears it would just come off normally, with the head of the bolt encased in the lead. Be sure you are turning the right direction..It appears to be a right hand thread. Righty Tighty, Lefty Loosey. Hmmmm...

Re: Battery upgrade question

I have a 07 and recently upgraded to a yellow top. That bolt is a bi_ch to get off. I just gripped the oem ring with pliers, used a socket wrench for the bolt and cranked the s__t out of that bi_ch. The oem ring will be useless once your through with it. I had to use 4 gauge and ring terminals to extend my batt wire from the bolt.
