Custom 08 Radio Bezel

I'm about to purchase a 08 Titan LE. The factory bezel has the wood grain finish on it. Is it possible to have the Metra kit (only comes in gray) to be painted or some film/cover put on to resemble the wood grain texture of the factory piece? I want to install my Pioneer Avic D3, but I don't think I'll like the color of the bezel against the wood grain of the console.

Re: Custom 08 Radio Bezel

I have asked around my area and a couple custom paint shops would paint the Bezel to any color and finish I would want. Found though that it is a small job and they charge alot. I am planning on getting a carbon fiber finish.

Who makes a good dash kit for the double din radio opening in the Titan? I was also thinking of doing carbon fiber or aluminum like th pro4X.

Re: Custom 08 Radio Bezel

To my knowledge, there are no pre-cut dash cover kits that will fit the Metra double din opening yet.

You'll have to custom paint or use one of the larger sheet overlays and do it yourself.

If I were you, I would just paint the grey Metra bezel black and then place a sheet of faux wood trim over the bezel and then cut to fit. The black paint will help hide the visible sections of insides/corners of the Metra bezel while your faux wood vinyl overlay covers up the rest.

Now the trick is finding an sheet of wood overlay that matches your interior best.

For me since the Metra kit doesn't match anything in my interior at all, I'll be re-painting the kit and possibly other parts of the interior to make everything else flow as if it was all OEM. This will be a spring project for me.

Looks like I found something that might work. Check out this link: http://www.exoticwooddash.com/coating.asp

I guess you can send in your part and they can cover it with what ever you like.

What do you think the pricing would be to get the metra dash kit custom coated? Which wood grain texture would more closely match the wood grain in the LE trim?

I'm also thinking about buying one of your sub boxes, but I want a amp/power inverter rack under the passenger rear seat with one 10" sub under the driver side rear seat. This is down the road, because I haven't even bought the truck yet.
