There's a good chance I can help. My wife is throwing her sister a bridal shower at my house. So I need an excuse to get the hell out the house!!!
Thanks, I'll check back with you late next week to see if you are still interested. I would imagine you would want to miss the estrogen fest! A baby shower is tolerable, but not a bridal shower.

Re: Any SoCal Guys Want To Help Me Install My System? FREE BEER!
there is a tech at my local Nissan Dealer that does side job audio installs. I could ask if your willing to come to Torrance. He does do top notch work and does all Dealer add on installs for Nav, sat., and the sort.
Let me know and I will ask him for rates. He is also pretty reasonable with how much he charges

That's interesting when you don't even know what I want done, thanks for the offer though.
I'm not looking to pay anyone. I'm certain that I can do it, I just thought that it would be a little easier and more fun if I had a little help from a fellow titantalker (the Texas guys seem to get together all the time for group projects). Since I got married and started a family, my group of friends has gotten smaller, and none of them are even remotely interested in working on vehicles. If they can't even understand why I would want to upgrade something that still works, I'm not going to ask them to help me. While I've never been a paid installer, I have been an enthusiast for more than 20 years (ah, remember the "good old days"?). I gave up on "professional" installers about 10 years ago, and have installed all of my own since. I had been using a shop here in Ventura for about 10 years, but once the owner stopped working in the install bay things went downhill. The last one they did, they pretty much hacked it. They are still around, but I stopped in recently looking to buy a firewall bushing and they said they could give me one. What? Give me one? They handed me a chinzy little plastic grommet and said that's what they use to get 4 ga through the firewall. Suddenly I remembered why I don't use them anymore. I am very impressed with p-dizzle's work, but he's just a little far away. If his pricing is anything like tech's though, he's probably undercharging. I certainly couldn't afford to pay him what his work is really worth. Maybe that's the problem with shops nowadays, nobody is willing to pay for quality work. Anyway, my wife leaves on Tues so I can put in a couple of hours each day after work and get it finished on the weekend. It's going to be a relatively simple install, amp and crossovers on the back wall, comps in stock locations up front, coaxials in the rear, and a single tech box under the rear seat. I will mat the floor and back wall now, and may mat the doors sometime in the future (I think you're right p-diz, matting for 3 days straight doesn't sound appealing). I do have all of my equipment now, and my box o' knu just arrived so I should be good to go. There is a hardware store right across the street from my house for any last minute things I need. So I will check with yellowmantis later to see if he is still interested, or maybe someone else will be. Or maybe nobody will, we'll see.

Well, after a few beers I do have bigger pis, see me after the install.
I do have bigger pics, but I've been reluctant to post them until I get new center caps. The simulated full floating axle caps that are on it now look pretty lame. I never looked at the caps when they were in the boxes, and I was pretty disappointed when I picked up the truck from the tire shop. I have seen these wheels with a much smaller cap on an Armada, I need to try to find some. Anyway, here they are.

Re: Any SoCal Guys Want To Help Me Install My System? FREE BEER!
Well, I've put in a few hours on it now. It's been raining, so I haven't been able to get much done. I've started deadening, and have mounted my amp rack to the rear wall. I initially had it all the way over to the air vent, but I had to trim 5 inches off it because that side rattled against the wall. Appears to be good and solid now, the real test will be driving it to work tomorrow.

Slept late, no baby alarm clock this weekend!! Taking a quick lunch break now, but I'm balls deep in it now. This is what my guest house looks like.
Here's the truck.
Working in the driveway sucks, here's the ominous looking sky.
Got a lot of work still to do, but I think getting the interior apart was half the battle.

Re: Any SoCal Guys Want To Help Me Install My System? FREE BEER!
Break time. Spent the afternoon laying mat, and the back half is pretty much done. I had only 60 sq ft, so not much left. I think I'll concentrate on just covering the rest of the bare metal on the floor, skipping the factory deadener. It's dark and starting to rain, so I'll spend the next few hours sitting inside the truck with a work light. Pretty roomy in there when gutted, that much space would rent for $1000 mo in Manhattan!
