Head unit is not a dvd player. The DVD/CD button is to select audio source. Unfortunately it's not pre-wired like the fog lights wire.

No problem, no such thing as a "Stupid questions" around here. If you don't know just ask.

Look in my signature for a link to lots of part numbers, I believe the harness PN is there also.

OK here's the PN

DVD harness (From HU to DVD player) 24016-7S202
DVD Roof harness 24167-7S261
Thanks for the part numbers. So that part number for the roof harness will get me from the DVD player to the monitor? Any idea whose got the best price on it?

Re: Where to find OEM DVD player/monitor?

Well yes and no. The harness for the roof is just the hookup with more wires to hook to the screen and the factory roof harness to dvd . Unfortunately you will be missing wires and pins with the roof harness that goes down the side to the dvd player. You will have to possibly fabricate your own wires because as of right now I do not think they sell that wiring harness (the one that runs from the roof console down the pillar to the dvd). All they sell is the harness with the screen hookups (smaller roof harness) and the dvd to radio harness.

Also even with the dvd to radio harness you need to do a jumper wire at the radio so that you can use the dvd switch.

*BUMP*

Just an observation, is it just me or is that harness and factory dvd integration statement a conversation killer. I haven't really seen a writeup on that exact install, just aftermarket . Too complicated ? The question seems to pop up every so often and I admit it sparks my interest even though I am all set.

Re: Where to find OEM DVD player/monitor?

I'm going to try and build that harness so I'll let you know what happens. I have the service manual and it shows all the connections. I bought the OEM player and monitor on ebay already so I'm stuck with those. My thinking was I could buy the factory sub harnesses and hook it right up. I guess I should have researched it better.

Re: Where to find OEM DVD player/monitor?

I know what you mean. You can get the two harness but not the third one that means the most. If you figure it out a good write up would help. I was thinking of doing this myself but the local radio shacks don't seem to carry the right stuff (pins, molex tools etc).

Re: Where to find OEM DVD player/monitor?

Any updates on this? Did anyone figure out a good write up on the wiring from the header panel to the dvd player etc?? I know there are some writeups out there but after you get the two availiable harness you still need to add wiring because the harness are missing pins etc..

Looks like most people may have went the professional installer route with this wiring. I have yet to see anything written up but the question is posed on numerous occasions. Hmmm looks like I am telling my friend he is out of luck on doing it himself. Anyone?

Re: Where to find OEM DVD player/monitor?

I know this thread is old but I finally got around to trying this. It is possible to add the factory dvd stuff and it's not to bad if you buy the two harnesses listed above. I have an 05 LE so I had the rear controls and the brown connector in front of the shifter, M64 I think its official name. You will need a wiring diagram for the dvd system. In the center console harness you basically have to ID the 11 wires going to the monitor and remove them from there connector (the one that plugs into M64) and extend them up to the monitor harness. Everything after that just plugs in. The hardest part is taking everything apart to run the wires. It's been worth it so far though my kid loves it.

Not necessarily, the OEM connections are totally different than RCA. From what I concluded when doing mine, the OEM DVD Player requires the entire main harness inside the front Dash to be replaced on mine with one that has the DVD wiring in it and that baby runs $4k-$5k and I have an Armada LE. From what I've seen, I doubt that a Titan LE would have more wiring than an Armada LE. Aftermarket RCA is simple thanks to llajumpvid finding the connect points to splice the RCA cables into. You have to keep in mind that OEM requires quite a bit more communications with the HUD than aftermarket does and it's VERY tough to duplicate those w/o that main harness. It's a piss poor wiring design at best.
