Thieves! = time for a new system

Alright guys Some douche nozzle broke in and tried to steal the RF HU (STOCK!)

Ended up f'ing up the unit while he was at it.

Anyway since inurance is just going to cut me a check and this is all tore up anyway. I was thinking I might as well upgrade the current system.

Tell me your thoughts as I haven't done any sort of audio since the mid to late 90's

I'm still debating between the AVIC D3 and the 8120. Thoughts, opinions?

Must haves are NAV w/ traffic / BT / IPOD

Not looking for uber SQ here RAP is forbidden on this system only rock / metal, maybe heehaw music if the wife is driving.

Since I have a limited budget I'm only going to upgrade HU & the ol trusty amp/sub/box upgrade for now. I'll deal with the doors later.

Looking for some ideas on these or other options I should consider?

the d3 does not come close to the 8120 and there is no comparison. Nav traffic is useless . DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON NAV TRAFFIC . 8120 has bluetooth built in .This should do for sub amp combo. And will sound perfect with everything you listen too.

Just out of curiosity, what makes you say this? I use the XM NavTraffic with my Avic N3 when i travel in the Chicago area, and its saved me hours of sitting in traffic in certain places numerous times.

I have never used it in other cities however, and id imagine its only as reliable if they update often enough, which they may not do in other cities.

I just assumed everywhere was like Atlanta where it does not work worth a crap. And an N3 is a much better unit than a d3

go with the kenwood... my dad has a D3 and he hates it, the navigation sucks and everything else is just ok.

I have the D3 and it's on sell now at best buy for $699.99 you would need to get the Blue Tooth and XM as it is blue tooth and xm satellite ready. The nav works great for me, I used it on the drive up from California to Alaska. All though the built in amp is too strong for the stock speakers, I have Infinty 6x9's in the front kappa series and not saying there the best but they blew already. I'm not sure if it's cause the EQ is not filtering the lows to the speakers or it's just too much power?

I don't get it either and they didn't take the front cover just busted the tabs & scratched the plastic bezel. So unless they install it in a nissan which had a 6disc or an RF it's completely useless.

Nav actually works pretty well here in SoCal from what I've seen. Why is the N3 prefferred over the D3? Nice package BUT, I only want one 10" sub & I would build my own box.

I would go with the 8120 over the N3 in a Titan. The only reason i have the N3 is because my last truck was single DIN. I would much prefer a double DIN in my Titan, but cant justify the cost yet since the N3 works just fine. And for Double Din nav systems, Kenwood is the way to go.
