jl tw5

has anyone heard the tw5's in action. how much bass do they actually give off. i like good amount of bass and my two 10" type r's arent doing it anymore. i dont really wanna lose out on my backseat either. i know jl's have tonnes of bass but with the new thin subs i dont know. will they give me enough bass. or does anyone have another suggestion that would give me amazing bass. thanks for the input

Re: jl tw5

Do you have 2 Type R's under the rear seat? I'd like to see a picture if they are

Re: jl tw5

why would you want to pay premium to fit thin subs if you have type R's under the seat already. Theres alot of better options for the money, save those for really tight spaces.

For thin, take a look at Diamond Audio http://www.diamondaudio.com/content/view/170/188/

I was a a local Diamond shop and they were showing me this sub. From what they were saying, this thing is supposed to be simply amazing. At nearly $300 per sub, there's probably more affordable options.

Hit up Tech, He's done 4 10" Forward Firing L7's or 2 G5's with Passive Radiators. I haven't heard them personally but the people that have them say its crazy loud.

The G5's are pretty big, im sure he can get your 2 Type R's under there

Re: jl tw5

Type R's might fit with seat left and maybe some fiberglass, but yea your better off getting something that will fit eaiser. My TC 1000's are probably more like what your looking for but TC changed names and trippled prices so I can't recommend them unless you can find some used and thats always somewhat risky. Theres alot of other options that should put out a decent amount of bass. You can seat lift and forward fire 10's but then they are more prone to damage, I personaly prefer downfire but upfire is good if you don't offroad or have to worry about the box smaking against the seat, and if you don't plat to haul around/ set stuff on top of the box. Downfire has its own issues as well.

Is your current box ported or sealed? If ported it may be more difficult to find something as loud, but you can definately find something with better SQ that will fit under the seat. What will fit will depend on your truck, CC KC? 08? etc. You might be able to change to 12's instead of 10's for some extra bass.

Re: jl tw5

the type r's arent doing it for me anymore i need more bass better sq and better fit under the seats. i know jl has crazy subs but the tw5 are new and i wanna know if they give off alot of bass or if they are restricted do to the thinness. if i wanted to i could make the tens fit under the seat but im not too happy with the subs there good but i know i can do better. i just got new jl component speakers so i thought i might upgrade the subs too. i wanna be heard from a ways a way lol. if i cant find something to fit under the seat that will give me the amount of bass i want i might just go with one jl w7 for the back seat and just leave the one side up
