Titan Speaker Mount

In the 2006 CC, do you have to replace the speaker mounts in the back in order to fit 6.5s? Can you mount the speaker to the factory mounts like the 6x9s up front?

I decided not to do any subs under the seat. Instead I'm going to do the Kicker 6.5" CVTs in the back doors with either some Kicker 2-way 6x9s up front. Will use a Kicker 550.3 to run it all. Going with the Pioneer 4000 series dvd indash.

The 6.5s are actual subs and not midbass so I'm curious how it will sound.

Kicker 550.3
70x2 wrms @ 4-ohms for the 6x9s
420 wrms @ wired at 2-ohms for the CVTs.

Kicker CVTs
Single 4-ohm
150 Wrms each

Kicker KS692s
Single 4-ohm
90 wrms

Re: Titan Speaker Mount

the rear speakers and mounts are all one unit. the easiest way to do it is take some 5/8" mdf and trace around the rear speaker assembly. Then do it again but dont trace where the bolts tabs go. glue those two peices together, determine how big of a hole for the new speakers and cut that out in the center. this makes an even 1 and a 1/4" (same depth as the factory speaker assembly). I have considered using mid drivers in my doors as well. let me know how that sounds. It may not give the really low ranges that a sub would, but with as much power you will be pushing....holy ____....bet that will be loud as hell!!!! let me know how it goes.

Re: Titan Speaker Mount

Change in plans...going active:

H/U: Pioneer 880prs (Arrives tomorrow)
Mid/High Amp: Tsunami DB4440 (Arrives tomorrow)
Highs: Seas 1" Silk Tweets (Arrived)
Mids: Peerless 6.5" (Arrived)
Rear: 6.5"s CVTs, Mach 5, Peerless (undecided)
Rear Amp: Undecided. Nothing more than 300wrms.

Trying not to use subs but I may go with two 8s.

Now. I have zero experience with wood work so who can make me some speaker rings at a decent price? I can pay now!

I can make rings . I cut them out of 1 inch MDF and they are 35 a set front and rear.

Not worried about that. If I had the space and equipment needed to do some wood working, I would but I don't so I pay.

Tech:

I'll send a request through your online store this afternoon.

Re: Titan Speaker Mount

Well got the H/U installed. It sounds great with just the factory speakers. The speaker and amp install will happen this weekend. Waiting for the 6.5 CVTs and the Kicker 300.1 to come in. I'll take pics of the door installs considering I'm using subs instead of mid-range speakers in the back.

Tech12Volts: I sent a request on your site but not sure if you got it.
