sub enclosure question

i just bought a new system for my truck as my last one was stolen unfortunetly... o well now i get new stuff lol.. but anyways i bought two ten inch kicker L5's and was wondering what the best box setup would b in my titan crewcab. i plan on doing a dual box but not sure what is going to sound best. should i go downfire upfire or face them forward.. i think either way ill probably have to do a seat lift. but i was wondering about any suggestions.. thanks much appreciated.

Re: sub enclosure question

ya i was thinking forward firing them but wasnt sure if any specific way will sound better. i like hard bass for mostly hip hop and stuff like that so whatever will give me the best bass. now should i port them or leave them sealed. i know my old subs sounded like better in a sealed rather than ported in the truck because there is so much air space in the truck unlike a car. so what would u suggest for that as u have done both

Re: sub enclosure question

my only worry with firing them forward is that the bass will b more aimed towards my feet so will i feel it mostly on my lower body or will it still fill the whole truck?

Re: sub enclosure question

k one more question... if the ported will b louder how do tune that for best sq and bass. like i can build boxes i have done a few but never a truck box and im not sure how the port would work. from pics of ur ported boxed the opening looks about 2"x4" or something like that but how deep were the ports.. and also considering the subs i have 2 10" L5's. i think they will pound either way but i want the best just like everyone lol

What he said. I've built some decent boxes myself but Tech12Volt's boxes go well beyond what the average home builder can do. He will handle issues like structural integrity to limit flex and proper air space / port tuning. I have one of his boxes and am very happy with it.
