Wire Guage for Wireing in Subs

I have wired in a few setups now and finally think I have been underpowering a few. I know 10 guage power wire for under 200 watt, and 4 guage for anything over 1k watt. My questions are:

What guage speaker wire should you use in the box (sub to box terminals)?
What guage wire from Line out connecter to amp?
What guage wire from Amp to Sub Box terminals?

I have just be using the standard speaker wire from Home depot.... Am I losing power?

What type of wire and the size of wire is overrated. Majorly overated. 12 to 14 gauge is more than enough for anything under 1500 watts

Re: Wire Guage for Wireing in Subs

I think I have 10 guage power wire, and 14 for speakers.

Thanks for the tip, not going to re-wire then.

Now power wire is a different story. What size amp are you running 10 gauge to.
