Need input for sound system in '05 Titan LE, SQ primary goal

Hi,

I've got an '05 Crew Cab LE mode, with upgraded stereo (RF, 6 cd changer, etc.)

The sound quality ... is better than a normal stock radio ... but it's not very good. I'm thinking about upgrading the system (maybe just speakers, if that'll work) to gain higher SQ.

As the system stands now, I see a lot of areas where, even using a parametric EQ, I can't get the sound to be flat. The lower end sounds like mud.

So, I'm looking for suggestions. Here are the requirements I have:

#1 - I'm willing to go to a custom installer, but I want the system to blend into the truck, and not take up/waste a bunch of space.

#2 - I'm not worried about peak SPL, I don't listen to my music loudly enough for the block to hear, and I don't compete. SQ is my number one priority.

#3 - I listen to a lot of musical genres, everything from orchestral, to rachmaninov type piano, to ambient/electronic, to who knows what!

#4 - I'm not overly concerned with money, but I'm looking for the best SQ for a reasonable price. Meaning, if a 200$ speaker is 90% better than a 100$ speaker, I'd pay for the 200$. If a 400$ speaker is 10% better than a 200$ speaker, I'd stick with the 200$ model.

I've heard lots of good things about JBL speakers. My studio monitors, in fact, are JBLs. That said, I am not brand loyal. Suggest anything you like, I just want the best SQ possible.

If I can stick w/ the stock HU, and get good sound with a speaker (and/or amp) upgrade, that's fine. I just use the AUX jack on the faceplate with an external media player. If a HU upgrade is a necessity, I'd want one that would fit in nicely and blend in with the dash propely, and not look out of place.

Thank you in advance!
