IPOD Hookup with Kenwood DNX 9140

For those of you who have the new Kenwood 9140 receiver with the IPOD 301V cable hooked up, what does your IPOD screen read? My IPOD Video reads "KENWOOD USB Direct Control, OK to disconnect. I've been searching Kenwood Forums trying to see if my IPOD cable was installed correctly with my new system by Car Toys because I can't watch my videos. I have TV out on my IPOD and when playing videos there is no display except the Album Art. I can touch the art but then receive a Blue Screen that reads Parking off. At the top it reads IPOD, Mode:Full and AVOUT:AV-IN1 but its greyed out and I can;t access the ICONS. I even sent an email to Kenwood trying to get an answer. I had an earlier new post about my new system installed but after a negative comment from one user about the thread being worthless without pictures, I removed it. Althoug,h in that thread I did mention it was new and I was still exploring the unit and manuals and would post pictures later. I still plan on doing so once I know the full capabilties of the unit. Right now, receiving several explanations from KenwoodForums about the IPOD Video but so far nothing has resolved the problem and I'm beginning to think Car Toys might have hooked my IPOD Interface 301V cable wrong.

That message is normal on mine. You can disconnect at any time. Make sure your IPOD has the latest firmware. I called Kenwood direct the first time because I couldnt watch video. Turns out I had to tap the little picture at the top right of the screen.

Thanks, I go touch mine in the upper left hand corner which displays the album art but then get a Blue Screen that reads Parking Off. The top of the same screen shows IPOD and Mode:FULL and AVOUT-AV-IN1 but the icons are lightly grey shaded and not acessible via touch screen in the unit. I've been searching KenwoodForums.com and avsforum.com getting a few answers but so far no luck with IPOD Video displaying. (Just tested with parking brake on but no video signal so its back to the installer)

Car toys did not ground your parking brake wire and they may not. But its easy to fix.

And 2nd more than likely whoever said no pics was kidding I hope and if they were not. Who cares I sponsor this forum and you post any thread you want about car audio

Re: IPOD hookup with Kenwood DNX 9140

Here are some photos of my new Kenwood. I still have to go back to Car Toys to get the Parking Brake grounded to watch videos but so far very happy with this system. It does take on average 30 seconds to load and some voice commands aren't recognized when switching from SIRIUS. My next move is to get a tech box and another amp from James that he recommended. Its on hold for awhile until I pay this upgrade off.

Re: IPOD hookup with Kenwood DNX 9140

I don't use IPOD hookup with Kenwood DNX 9140 but I want to share good Ipod connector for nissan altima I found at Nissan iPod and MP3 connector cable for Altima, Sentra, Xterra and more!
It is economical because the price is below $100. It works with all ipods/mp3 players any device which can have a earphone connection can be connected to the car stereo.
