Remove interior door panels?

I just laid out some sound deadener mats on the floor of my crew cab and I'm thinking about doing the same with the doors in my truck. How difficult would it be to access the inside of my doors? The main reason I'm doing this is to cut down on the noise from my mud grapplers. Insulating the floor actually cut down on a good portion of the noise, but it's still pretty annoying on the highway. I figured deadening the doors would make a significant contribution. What do y'all think?

its very easy i actually have my rear door panel off now,i just installed some new speakers....

It's not too bad, but you have to be pretty careful. You have to remove several screw bolts (5 or 6 I think). They are under the rubber on the arm rest (pry the rubber cushion up and off the rest) and on the door pull handle (pry out with a small flathead), as well as one under a small pop out under the door latch.

You then have to pry the panel off by popping out the plastic rivets going around the panel.

Finally, you'll have to remove the connectors for the lock and window wires, as well as the cables for the lock and latch if you want to be able to completely remove the panel and place it elsewhere.

It's not too bad. Just kind of scary the first time.

Its very easy. I just did it myself not too long ago. Only a couple of screws and then you have to pull the panel to unsnap the clips(not sure what they are exactly called) and thats it.

Well, I did it. But I busted some stuff in the process. I broke the plastic peice that holds the metal ball for the door latch. I was able to fix it by placing a washer on top of the metal ball. The only thing I couldn't fix was the spring that puts tension on the door handle. It popped out when I took the door panel off, and I couldn't figure out where it goes, so I left it out. No big deal. Thanks for everyones help.

I think you should try and figure out were it goes..
