It's not too bad, but you have to be pretty careful. You have to remove several screw bolts (5 or 6 I think). They are under the rubber on the arm rest (pry the rubber cushion up and off the rest) and on the door pull handle (pry out with a small flathead), as well as one under a small pop out under the door latch.
You then have to pry the panel off by popping out the plastic rivets going around the panel.
Finally, you'll have to remove the connectors for the lock and window wires, as well as the cables for the lock and latch if you want to be able to completely remove the panel and place it elsewhere.
It's not too bad. Just kind of scary the first time.
