Speaker Help

Ive got an 06 with the factory cheapo speakers. Whatever they are. Was thinking about just replacing the speakers with some higher quality ones. These crackle and really dont perform well at all. What size are the door speakers? And will i notice a difference if i just change them and dont run an amp to them. I dont want a full fledged system yet. Thanks for any advice.

Re: Speaker Help

The front doors are 6x9's. The back doors are 6.5's. You may notice a difference for the better with new speakers, but the factory radio puts out about 15 watts, and that really isn't enough to take advantage of many better speakers. If you don't want to put in an amp, find speakers that are rated to run on ~15 watts rms.

I have some CDT CL-62's with upgraded crossovers (ex-480) if you are interested, they are great upgrade and many people are running them. I also have 2 12" Pioneer shallow mount subs with alpine amp if you want. I had the setup in my truck but since i recently upgraded i have them laying in my closet.
If you are looking for something simple this setup will work great but if you want something more i recommend you to contact James at tech12volts he will take care of you.
