Quick tire question

Picking up a new set tomorrow since the ones that came with my 08 Titan Pro 4-X are bald after 28k. Planning on getting the GY Duratrac or the BFG's AT. Curious what the largest size I can run is with no lift of mods. I'll stick with the original size of 275/70/18 but if they don't have that in stock i'd like to know my options.

You could run the slightly shorter, slightly wider LT285/65R18. Examples: Tire Products - Discount Tire Direct
And although a little wide for your rims, the LT305/60R18, also just below 33" diameter would work. Examples:
Tire Products - Discount Tire Direct

There are lots of choices in the LT275/70R18 though, so you should be able to find something.

Any taller and you probably would probably need a level kit and/or the pinch weld mod. Except for maybe the BFG A/T KO in a LT305/65R17 at 33.7" would fit since the '08+ are already a little taller in the front stock, and most LT275/70R18s are close at 33.3", and they fit stock '04-'07.

Re: Quick tire question

Ordered the Duratrac's but they won't be in until next Friday. Could have had the BFG's for about 16.00 more a tire but I decided to wait it out. Discount tire was great to deal with. While they were trying to find my tires in stock they rotated the ones I have on now. Little things help

Great!!! Glad to hear and thanks for the support. Let us know what you think of the DuraTracs after you've had them for awhile.

Have a great weekend!!!!!

Re: Quick tire question

100 bux for the tire warranty. Worth it for the peace of mind since it is a new tire?

Re: Quick tire question

I may be bias because I work for DT but I have warranties on all my tires and I would have them if I didn't work here too. 1 unrepairable flat and you've saved yourself some good money. For me, I hunt and fish quite a bit so my truck finds its self in the desert quite often. Our Certificate for FREE replacement warranties aren't prorated either, if you get an unrepairable flat your tire will be replaced FREE of charge.

Re: Quick tire question

Got a call today from my guy at Discount and he said they should ship out Tuesday from Colorado and be here Friday, barring the snow issues they are having. He also knocked off another $100 since they were having a special this weekend.

Re: Quick tire question

Well, they called me back today and said they may not be here until the end of November. Not quite sure what the reasoning is. He said it will be day by day, but I would need to decided by tomorrow if I want a new tire or not. Said I could get the BFG's AT for the same price, and have them on my Friday.

Re: Quick tire question

I would wait a few week for the Duratracs myself. The BFG AT's suck in snow and ice... Im impressed you got 28k out of the stock BFG's i only got 18k out of mine, but i was trying to kill them also...

Re: Quick tire question

Yeah, I cant believe the amount of noise they are making right now. Not happy with them at all. Getting to the point where any tire is better than the ones I got on now.
