Ceramic vs Ferro-Carbon Brake Pads?
Which is better?
Seems like there is little difference from the two. Only difference is that the Ferro-Carbon are not as aggressive on the rotors as the ceramic pads. Also, the Ferro-Carbon pads does have a better braking performance when the weather is colder or wet. But, the downfall on the Ferro-Carbon is that they do not last as long as the ceramic pads.
Ceramic brakes are much aggressive on the "non cryo" rotors. The brake dust is almost next to nothing compared to the ferro-carbon. And, it seems like the Ceramic pads are more for the autocross guys who like to brake a lot.
I don't know how much of this stuff is true, since i did researched it on the "ricer" forums. But, i do need brakes and looking at several sites saw that there were two different types. Doesn't seem like the cost is two drastic, but i would like to know what im buying.
