rim/tire questions again...

I've been reading and searching for last couple hours and can't seem to find what I really needed.
Car I'm purchasing: 2006 King Cab Titan SE

As soon as I get my truck (ON MONDAY) I'm going to install a PRG MINI lift 2.5" front and 1" rear.
Now I'm looking at rims and tires , and can't decide what size to go with.
I love the look of a classic off road rims and I'm looking at smaller rims with lot of rubber
Rock Crawler Series 98 Black Monster Mod Wheel

I'm not sure if it would fit but I think from a random post it say some 17"wheels won't fit due to the breaks. Can someone confirm this?

Also, what is backspace? I see from 4"-4.5"..
I don't want the tires to rub so I probably go with 31" - 33"? what do you think it will fit best w/o having a rubbing issue..

The last thing 17x9 or 17x8????? I like the wide lifted look but don't want to stick out toooooooOo much and look like a low rider ride..
please help!!!

does anyone have a picture of that rim on titan? or similar?

Thank you!!

Re: rim/tire questions again...

The '08+ Titans need 18" rims, due to bigger brakes. But even on an '04-'07, some aftermarket 17" rims will rub on the brake calipers, and some people just grind the caliper a little. A lot of the American Racing rims have this issue. Someone posted somewhere that the aftermarket steel wheels tend to hit the calipers too. idk

To avoid rubbing when the steering wheel is turned, with just a level kit it is better to stay near the stock 5.5" backspacing, and stock 8" width, ('04-'07 XE and Off Road pkg, (OR), rims were 17x7.5" with 5 3/8" backspacing. The OR rims can be seen in my sig pic, or click it to see more pics).

With wider rims or smaller backspacing, you need smaller tires to prevent rubbing. But most people just trim inside the wheel well and run a little bigger. Kartman's Pinch Weld Mod ... see post #2

For a leveled Titan something like a 17x8 with 5" backspacing, and an LT295/70R17 and a little trimming would be good. If you get a 9" width, get one with 5.5" to 5.71" backspacing, or trim even more.

.
