18" All-Terrain Tires?

The stock 18" Goodyear Wrangler RS-A are nice on the road but I've already realized they're gonna flat out stink here in the mountains when I pursue my bowhunting passion and the White Death starts falling in November. I know BF Goodrich makes a 265/70R18 in their super popular A/T tread but I really don't feel like a home equity loan to buy them. I really wanted the 17" rims (more tire choices) on my SE but would have had to buy the Off-Road package to get them and I didn't want the lower axle ratio you're forced into. ANYWAY... anyone out there have any suggestions? I have a set of 16" chrome looking steel Chevy rims in my shed that I hear have the same bolt pattern as my Silver Crew monster and would fit. If I could cover up the Bowtie on the center cap, I'd SERIOUSLY think about buy some 285/75R16s. The 18" Goodyears have an outside diam. of 32.6" (as per Goodyear website). The 285-16s I've seen are aound 32.8" (give or take a wee bit). Thanks in advance!

I pretty much have the same problem with my SE. I want to go with a more aggressive tire, but we are limited when it comes to our 18" wheels. I don't think the 16" wheels will work, the Titan has some fairly large brake rotors hiding behind our factory 18" wheels. I entertained the idea of selling my tires and wheels, but they don't seem to be going for much on ebay - MAYBE $500. I have a question to add to yours though - maybe somebody out there has an answer. I am installing my 2.5" Daystar spacers this weekend, and I am trying to figure out if I can fit a 33" Mud Terrain with just the leveling kit. I have gone to a couple suspension shops, but I got two different answers. I want to install a REAL lift, but I don't want to go 8" (CST). I would rather lift my truck 4" - but it seems I might be waiting a while. Can I fit a 33x12.5 tire on my 2WD with the Daystar kit?

Your current tires are 32.6" and the OR tires are 33.0", however they are narrower than a 315 tire. But Daystar claims with their spacers you can fit a 33x12.50 tire. The 315/60R18's are roughly 32.9x12.4 (+ or - depending on the manufacturer and model.) However that would probably require a wider wheel than the standard 18" Titan wheel, which is 8" wide. Not only that, but I don't know of any company that produces a 315/60R18 tire currently.

Okay, here are my options when I get a new set of 17x10 wheels: 315x70-17 BFG A/T. 305x70-17 Goodyear Wrangler MTR. They are 34.5" and 34", respectively. I would love to be able to fit the BFG, but I think the Goodyears are going to be pushing the clearance already at 34". What tire/rim size would be best in your (or anybody elses) opinion?

Sorry I don't think those will fit, especially on a 10" rim. One member (sorry I forget who) had rubbing problems with the CST 8" lift and 35x12.50 on a 17x10 rim, he had to add the daystar 1" spacer in addition to the CST to get it to fit. Those good years are 34x12.2, but are approved for an 8" wheel. I think a 10 wheel would cause it to rub and isn't necissary.
