Does anyone have any experience with programming the Tire Pressure Monitoring system? I have 4 additional stock wheels with TPM senders (addressable) that I would like to mount a different (more aggressive) tire on.
Each pressure sender has a unique address, and I am sure that you can re-program the receiver to identify the new ones. Any suggestions on where I might find this information. I believe that we have TPM monitors from Schrader Electronics, which Nissan has used in the past.
Perhaps a shop manual has this info. ???
Any Ideas?
Thanks,
Imadogman
I may have answered my own question...If you are interested, please visit this link at Schrader Electronics. Our system probably has the "auto learn" feature in the receiver. http://www.schraderelectronics.com/b...cation_id=1044
your dealer has a special tool for programing the TPMS it takes about 15 sec however you will probably have to reprogram if you put your stock wheels back on

I am curious about this issue myself. I was wanting to include the full-size spare in the tire rotation. The sensor stems are available, if the trucks do have the 'auto learn' type receiver that will make things simpler.
Most other car systems will just sense the new tpms after time. Don't know if this is the same, or if there is an ecu adaptation procedure.
Might be worth meeting up with a local and swapping a wheel or 4 to see what happens. You will surely set a light initially, but after a few restarts of the engine, MOST will adapt automatically.
I don't know because I've never tried it on a Titan, but have on other cars that have the tpms.
IMADOGMAN, just like I said in my PM to you, as long as you don't have the tire pressure monitor system (the NAV screen, etc.), you only have the low tire pressure warning system. That consists of a light in the instrument cluster and a buzzer, should any tire pressure be sensed less than 28psi.
There is no sensor ID required (no programming) with the warning system. The BCM (Body Control Module) receives input from all 4 sensors (via the keyless entry receiver) once the vehicle is moving. The BCM need not know which sensor is at which corner.
BTW, the tire pressure sensors are kinetic - no battery required. That's why the vehicle must be driven for tire pressure data to be sent to the BCM.
