Well it seems fixed for now. Yes, they are brand new rotors, pads etc...everything but califpers it looks like...We'll see in 10k miles or less whether they warp again.

I had been on a wait list for the new brake TSB with my service center (brake kits were on backorder). On Tuesday, my already mushy brake pedal began going all the way down to the floor just to stop normally and a couple of times it held to the floor for a moment after I lifted my foot off of it (just like other posts we've read about). Called my service guy and he said bring it in first thing next day so they can check the brake booster. An hour after I talked to him I get a call from the parts guy telling me my brake kit is in and to call service for an appointment - what timing! So today (Wednesday) I took it in thinking they would take care of the brake pedal problem in addition to the TSB. They did the TSB which involved changing parts (as per the earlier post by Titanone) plus resurfacing and turning the front rotors (I have less than 3,000 miles so no new rotors for me). They also bled the front brakes. After doing this, the pedal feel improved. They inspected the brake booster and found no problems. After driving it myself, the pedal feel is much less mushy but still not stout--I was told that is normal for the Titan so I'm o.k. with that. If the brakes get mushy again they will probably change the booster. I also plan on checking the torque on the lug nuts myself.

Hey Fellas

This is a fix for the brakes. I just got mine done today at my dealership in Fort Smith, Arkansas. They replaced the Rotors and the Pads. It takes about an hour. I drove it hard afterwards and it seems to have worked........

I'd like to know if the pads in the new TSB are the non-dust type.

Just wanted to give you guys a heads up. I've been testing a set of Ceramic pads for the Titan. Per the vendor I had my rotors cut prior to installing and bedding the new pads. The vendor believes that the "warped" feeling is not due to the rotors actually warping but to poor pad material transfer to the rotors.

I've got about 1000 miles on the Ceramic pads now. Which includes 600 miles of towing a roughly 6800lb load. I have to say that I beleive that these will be the best bang for the buck brake mod you will be able to do!

On my tow trip a fool decided to brake check me on the 401 in Canada. This was not a smart move as I had 12,000lbs coming towards his bumper. The truck stopped very good prior to the trailer brakes ramping up to their full output. Also at one point I forgot to turn my brake controller on and the truck stopped 12,000lbs pretty damn good on just it's own brakes!

Since returning from that trip and driving the truck without trailer in tow I have to say the following about them.

1.) The dust *WAY* less then the stock pads
2.) They don't fade like the stock pads
3.) They STOP LIKE NO TOMORROW

I'm working with the vendor and Mossy Performance to get them put into production in the next few weeks. Keep watching on http://www.nissanperformancemag.com for details on them.

I had the latest TSB done and the front pads were a brand new part number and it eliminated 90% of the brake dust. They must be ceramic, and I don't have that judder yet after 1000 miles.

doubt the TSB pads are ceramic.

But Tirerack carriers ceramic pads. Sounds like that is the way to go.

I bought my Titan in January and my brakes have always been pretty soft, but lately they have gotten really bad. I had to make a hard stop the other day and I couldn't, I ended up rear ending someone because I couldnt stop in time.... when I took it to the dealer to see if any mechanics were badly damaged, they must have adjusted them, or done something without telling me, they seem better now.

Yes I will have an update on www.nissanperformancemag.com for November. I had hoped that I could get someone to help do a brake test to compare a stock truck to my truck but it looks like no-one wants to help out with that. I'm working on getting a truck from my dealer. The problem is that it doesn't have theoff road package so I'll have to swap wheels to make the test more comparable.

The pads will be available from Mossy Performance. You will not be disappointed. The truck now brakes as well as my 2600lb cars.

Ok, "Stupid Service Guy". Not very many people would even THINK about the service department since they're not needed until something is due for a checkup or a problem occurs. It just seems that if the dealer is good enough, maybe, just maybe! the service and friendliness would carry over to the other departments. I guess it's just another one of those deals where people in the same organization dont' talk to each other. BTW, I didn't save anything on my Titan. Hell, I didn't even get to drive it until 2 days after I signed over $31k for it. Not even a test drive! (My good loving wife got it first!).

As for the brakes thing, check this out. (being an ex-navy guy, a boiler technician, I believe I have a pretty good understanding of how machinery works.) So here goes. "The knee bone is connected to the...."..

IF the steering wheel shakes, where's it coming from? Well, what's between the steering wheel and the ground? A WHOLE LOT OF PARTS, that's what! If I have only 6300 miles on my Blond Titan SE, then I must have over 20k miles on all the shaking parts, right? Just because I was bored the other day, I took him down to the local tire shop and had one removed. They put it on their balancing machine and did a runout on the tire. To most, thousandths of an inch isn't much, but to me it's a LOT! And there is actually a flat spot on both front tires of about 12 thousandths (.0012"). This after driving him over 2k miles with warped rotors.

Want another one?
It hardly rains in Sunny San Diego, but when it does it's SLIPPERY! WIth warped rotors, I found out when I tried to avoid some fool doing stoopud stuff in front of me, that ABS doesn't work when you have warped rotors, either!

Ahh, what the heck! What's a service department if you don't total the truck, eh?

I took mine in this A.M. and they gave me a loner while they put the "new Brake Kit" on. It still is not done, but I am willing to bet it will cure the prob. Bye the way this is my second time to the shop for the same symptom

You meant .012" on the rotors right? Not tires? 12 thousands run out is a lot on the rotors...but of course you couldn't measure that on a tire
