TSB on brakes performed today

Took the service department about 2.5 hours to complete the work and I no longer have a shaky steering wheel when I hit the brakes at 30 plus mph.

Will let everyone know if they stay that way after a few thousand more miles.

Did they turn your old rotors or add new ones?

rrumaner....
the pic of your titan looks funny. it looks like the truck in the left part of
the pic will collide with the van in the back of the pic. looks like they are
in the same lane heading toward each other.
just curious....

Not sure about rrumaner, but they did not replace mine on tuesday, they turned them, replaced the pads - basically what was listed in the TSB. I asked them how much they were going to turn the rotors and they said no more than the thickness of a piece of paper.

As far as I know, they did what was stated in the TSB. I physically handed them a copy and said that this is what I wanted done.

As for the photo in my signature, a while back I explained the deal with it.

We were blocking a two lane road and set each vehicle up to face on-coming traffic due to the style of lighting we had in our vehicles.

The van that that is heading our way actually ran the roadblock on the other side of the incident and I happened to be taking pictures of my truck at the time he came around the corner.

We stopped him, alerted the police in the area and had him arrested for failure to stop and a host of other offenses. The photos I took at that time were used in court to prove he was actually coming around the curve which he said he didn't do. Large fine and lots of community service followed his discussion with the local judicial system.

Do this to....

After getting my rotors turned the first time and new brake pads installed (at 8000 miles), Nissan is now replacing my rotors, and pads with the newer ones at (11700 miles). Except now, they wont be covered after 12000 (if i read the warranty right) My friend at NHTSA says we all need to report this to them. One of the main guys involved in getting those Firestone tires recalled.

The more people that file a complaint, the better resolution Nissan will find to this problem. Especially since we dont want to keep doing this every 5000-10000 miles.

Report "what" to them, the brake issue or the warranty issue?

Report the brake issue to them.

Nissan knows about the problem, and they made a little fix called a "kit", but even the nissan service technicians say that the brakes are to small for the truck.

The more people that report this issue, the more Nissan will do for us, so that we wont have anymore problems.
