Re: proper tire pressure with nitto trails

LT tires require more air to carry the same load as a P tire. For a 275/70/18 (which I have as well), you need about 43 psi to have the same load rating as the stock tires. I've been running mine at 45 psi, so far so good. BTW, I also never got a response from Nitto when I was shopping for tires a while back.

There's lots of threads in here about tires PSI and i believe the info you have is incorrect. E rated tires have a thicker sidewall and do require more pressure to properly inflate. The door label shows max tire pressure on stock tires. MAx pressure on the OP's tires is 80 PSI. Try that on stockers and let me know how it goes.....

Re: proper tire pressure with nitto trails

The lesser of two evils is over-inflation. All kinds of problems arise from running too low of PSI so i'll keep mine at 45 and will continue to tell others the same.

Re: proper tire pressure with nitto trails

I emailed Nitto when I got my Terra Grapplers and they stated 42 PSI for optimal wear and fuel economy.
