How do you switch tire press monitors

I just bought a set of 17" offroad wheels to replace my XE 17" steel wheels.How do I switch the pressure monitors from the steel wheels to the offroad wheels?Are they stick on?Integral with the stem??Thanks,Charlie

The tire pressure monitors are integral with the valve stem.

They bolt to the wheel with a nut and spacer on the outside.

Yup, they're reusable. They're also fairly common, so your tire guys should know how to deal with them.

Pull the valve out of the stem to deflate the tire first. Remove the nut on the valve stem - you can push the valve stem into the tire at this point. The manual tells you to do that to avoid sensor damage while breaking the bead while removing the tire. Depending on the type of equipment used to remove the tire, it may not be necessary, but it can't hurt.
