Has anybody fit a 16" wheel on their titan?? Is it possible?
I ask because I am selling my 18s and going to 20s...but there will be a 2 week lapse in there for ordering new tires and having them fitted and such. I have the stock wheels/tires off my Tacoma, which I beleive is the same bolt pattern. They are 265/70/16s. I'm wondering if I can use them temporarily. If nobody has tried (I know its odd), I'll test fit them and post the results!!
If the bolt pattern fits, then you should be fine. You'll just look like a roller skate for 2 weeks.
Oh, you're speedo will be off too. When you're speedo says 60 mph, you're really doing 56.3 mph.
I don't think you'll have any issues with the brake calipers rubbing either. The brakes on the Titan are very small
The bolt pattern will fit, but the problem is the caliper. Some wheels might fit, but I think many will not. Takes 5 minutes to find out...

Test fit the caliper. The problem won't be the size of the rotor, but the offset of the wheel rubbing.

I always thought that was odd ,able to fit rotors and calipers in some 16" wheels. You would think that a vehicle with an option for 17 or 18" wheels, that the smallest wheel the brakes would fit would be a 17" wheel, and not a 16" at all.

If our brakes are undersized, then how can a 3/4 or 1 ton truck run 16" wheels and still be able to stop under a full load? Further proof that our brakes are not undersized just because they might fit in a 16" wheel.

Ummm...you might do a little more research on brake design, if you think our rotors and calipers are anywhere near the current technology of 1 ton truck brakes. My 2800 lb sports car has better brakes, with 14" wheels. And no I'm not exaggerating. I didn't say they are undersized "because we can fit 16" wheels", I said its "further proof".

.I was aimin towards the fact that most manufactures brakes pretty much fill up the entire inside of the wheels (stock) except for the Dodges w/ 20's.
Yeah the brakes on the Heavy/Super Dutys work great, but they all come with a 16" wheel, I would be willing to bet you could'nt fit a 15" wheel on one, without a really fat spacer. (Wait I do remember one of the 4x4 mags doin it...but with the spacers the wheels stuck out to far and they barely fit, by like a hair. But that was a trail rig too.)
