stock size rims with oversize tires

kinda as the title says. I would like to see our stock wheels with bigger tires. the tire size i am looking the most at is the 17" and 18" size rims with 35" tires. I dont know if anyone here is running that combination. I usually see most of them with aftermarket rims. But if you have stock rims with bigger aftermarket tires please post pictures!!!

Re: stock size rims with oversize tires

Thanks goodkill!! truck looks really good! I am thinking about going to these rims with a bigger tire b/c i have a 3" bl and i wanna be able to get tires cheaper and find them easier. I am running 20" rims now, but finding 35's is a pain and they get expensive real quick!

Re: stock size rims with oversize tires

thanks man if you want cheaper id say go for 17s,18s are a hard size to find sometimes too. i wana find some 17s but my $$ is all over the place rt now. stock 17s are not as wide as stock 18s but i think you can still run 35s on them

Re: stock size rims with oversize tires

as far as tire prices check out streetsideauto.com, i just ordered mickey thompson baja claw radials in 33x12.50x17. i picked em up for $272 each shipped. the cheapest i had found that tire, prior, was 320, so a little money saved. plus a 10% of total gift card to the site.

btw fast shipping, paid last night and received a tracking number by 0830 this morning.

I have pictures of my truck under post #8 of the below link. They are 285/75/17 on stock offroad rims. Which are roughly 34x11.5

Thanks man, i really appreciate that photos/ the link to them. That does really help. I have about 600 to play with right now to get rims and tires used. I know if i go with 17" rims since i am an 05 it will work, im just trying to find a set with decent tires on them right now so i can make it through winter! Then ill be adding some bigger ones to them later on!

Re: stock size rims with oversize tires

Some folks have not had, and will never have, a problem with that size tire on a stock 18" wheel, but I think 12.50's are a little risky and just too big for our stock rims. To each his own, but I think it may be stretching it a bit. I see SC and KY as your location. Are you in the mountains or something where you see a lot of snow in the winter? If you need to make it through winter, stay skinny. Then go get something beefier when you upgrade. I still wouldn't go overly "fat" though. Again, just my opinion. I would think 305's would treat you fine if they have them in the size you end up with.
