My brakes are fine. . .but then I've got less than 2k miles so far. Stupid question here. . . all this talk of using the brakes to limit wheel spin. . . how freakin good can that be for the brakes ?

It appears that all or most of the Titans came out with the soft or mushy brake pedal. The pedal will readily go to the "bottom" with normal foot pressure, varying pressure required depending upon the actual truck. It is master cylinder fade. However, because the vacuum booster overrides and actually the vehicle stops, the techs and service advisors all say it is just the nature of Titan's brake system and is working properly.

I had a situation in which the right rear axle seal broke and in conjunction with this the pedal got worse. I had a real odyssey trying to get any Nissan personnel to understand that there was a problem. It is as if none of them have ever felt a normal brake pedal in their lives! Without all the gorey details, the Dealer Tech Specialist finally had a Platinum Master Tech help him bleed the entire system manually and there was air in the lines from the area of the master cylinder. This helped it but it was not as firm as prior to the axle seal leak. Finally, when I took it into the mountains and almost went over a couple of cliffs, the DTS realized there was an "o-ring" missing. He blamed another Platinum Master Tech for leaving this item out when they changed the master cylinder and vacuum booster during their effort to fix the master cylinder fade without actually admitting that they could feel it.
However, I strongly wonder if the o-ring was ever installed. It seems the techs would not expect one there and would not notice if one was missing. Now that the o-ring is in place, the pedal does not go to the bottom anymore!! I wonder if all Titan owners should have this checked in their presence to ascertain if a manufacturing or possibly design issue could be the culprit in the pedals that go to the bottom. There is now even a slight positive pressure against my foot when pedal is applied that was not there before. Other brake system related issues too but my internet time is almost gone!!! Keep on Nissan and the dealers and don't wait to long to pursue buy-back because it isn't easy, if your's is a lemon, too. Many other issues with mine.

O-Ring

Wonder what o-ring this was?

Anyone else have found this o-ring not installed?
