Lug Nut Torque Specs....

I'm going to go get my new tires mounted today after work at Discount Tire and noticed they put down 108 ft-lb for the torque specs. That seems high and I know in the manuel it says 98 ft-lb. My question is do most of you torque to the 98 ft-lb or do you think even that is a little much? Thanks.

Re: Lug Nut Torque Specs....

I do 90 ft/lbs on my aftermarket aluminums. Works great

An un-related side note: I actually had a wheel fuse to the front rotor last month. Never had that happen in my life. Blaster soaked for 12 hours and did the trick though.

Re: Lug Nut Torque Specs....

Impact :P lol, idk how tight they get. Sometimes I'll use a 100 ft/lbs torque stick though. Honestly 10 ft/lbs on lugs arent going to make a difference.

I think it is more important to get them all to the same tightness rather than exactly to 98 ft/lbs.

I bought torque sticks but never understood how they worked and therefore didn't trust them
