another brake issue

This happened after my brakes have been diagnosed as being fine several times by the dealer. I was backing up to my boat to move it to the back yard prior to hurricane Charlie and my brake pedal went to the floor. After releasing it I had pressure on the pedal again. I took it to the dealer (since they had some other parts in for repairs) and they have ordered a master cylinder. I'm just glad I didn't have this happen as I was lowering the boat into the water or I would have a swimming truck. It's bad enough now that I have a small dent in my rear bumper as a result of the brakes giving up.

8200 miles. Not very reassuring.

could anyone tell me, does the brake judder and resulting service bulletin tie in with the "mushy" brake syndrome? My dealer said soft brakes were normal, although mine seem to be VERY soft in comparison with previous trucks I have owned, and that until they get worse they cant do anything about them. I have 6500 miles, do I have something to be aware of in the future or are the mushy brakes unrelated. Sorry if this has already been answered somewhere else.

The Judder and the mush are two seperate issues.

The judder is from overheating the rotors and warping - appears so far to be caused by the pads not 'sliding' and weak rotors. The TSB 66A takes care of this (Supposed too - mine just done a few hundred miles ago).

Mushiness normally comes from a couple things. Brakes not bled thouroughly or a master cylinder that is 'leaking by' internally and not holding pressure.

Did they bleed your brakes Chris? If so, all four wheels? I'm having the TSB done hopefully on Friday if I get the time.

IT feels like they did. Mine was a little mushy before and after the first time they did the initial TSB that was out. They feel a little better now but I would not call it great with regard to brake 'feel'. BUT, it is very nice to not have the steering wheel jittering in my hand.
