I'm planning to get the 6" Fabtech Lift for my 05 SE CC Titan... It came stock with 18" wheels, will these fit on the new lift without any problems? They will only be on there during winter use. I plan to buy a set of 17" or 18" wheels but not sure. Another set of 18's would make since because I could swap tires back and forth between rims if needed. But 17's are less expensive, and there is a wider selection of tires out there for them.
Now next ?, I don't want my wheels/tires sticking way out. Does someone know the specs of my stock wheels- backspace and offset??? Fabtech suggests a 17x9 with 5" backspace, but how does the backspace/offset work together. I saw a diagram of it once but don't remember where i found it.
A 9" rim with 5" backspace would be .5" offset, a 8" wheel (like mine) with 5" backspace is 1" offset. Basically divide the wheel width in half then subtract that number from the backspace to get your offset.
Also, has anyone that has a lift had any related problems from it yet? Have you noticed the trans. temps. increasing?? Braking probably isn't as effective either, correct??
One other thing is changing around the speedo due to the different tire sizes. How badly is your shifting off, etc... I've looked but haven't found any programmers for our trucks yet. Anyone know of one?
