Got the new brakes.

Well Nissan did as they promised. Monday they sent out a regional technician with the all new brake parts (supposedly unavailable yet to the public, but after 4 times in for brakes I think my lemon law case was looking pretty good).

Well my first impression is that they feel totally different. Gone is the mushy feeling and now the brakes feel nice and hard the way they should feel. Stopping power doesn't seem any better but the feeling is a LOT better. I say if you are having brake problems and you otherwise love the Titan, demand Nissan get you the new brakes!

raceboy-

I just had my truck in yesterday for the first time for brakes (or any problem for that matter). And they told me I got the permanent fix. I can't understand that I would the first time around, but I agree with your findings-my brake feel like a whole different brake system. No mushy pedal whatsoever. They stop the truck without me pumping them.

I looked at the rotors and calipers. They look new and the rotor looks like it has more stopping surface than the rears, but that may be normal anyway...

Either way, I'm glad you got yours' fixed right.

I'm sure some dealers have the new parts already. Maybe there is no regional tech where you are that's convenient. I was told June would be when the fix was officially available.

I was at the dealership yesterday getting the rotors turned for the second time at 7500 miles. They told me new permanent fix was larger rotors and slotted.

raceboy- is that true, are the slotted and larger than the original?

They are bigger, but not slotted.

What all does this factory kit include? Is it just rotors and pads, or do they include other items? I am just curious if they increased the diameter of the rotors and added beefier calipers. I was going to install carbotech ceramic pads and powerslot rotors, but if the factory is upgrading the diameter, that may be a better option. I have heard really good things about the carbotech/powerslot kit from Mossy. Has anyone here done that?

I went in Saturday for brakes at 4,000 miles. The service writer said that Nissan is making the dealer mike (measure the thickness) before they will release parts. If the rotors are thick enough, they will turn them and not replace them. So mine are going to get turned.
