Ok, I'm looking to find a replacement tire for my stock 18" wheels. Looking for something like a 33", with a somewhat aggressive tread, either an all-terrain or mud terrain style. I don't want to be spending alot on them though, are there any economical choices out there?
So...you want some big-a$$ tires, but don't want to spend much....I suppose you would like these tires to provide good traction AND wear like iron???
Just playing with-you...

I was at Les Schwab last week and was quoted about $1018 for some Toyo AT tires. They had a much more aggresive tread and are a bit bigger than the stock Goodyears. However, I think clearance is an issue as these trucks don't have much room to work with unless you have a lift. Pretty spendy though for four new skins.

Yeah, i know exactly what you mean. I plan on ordering the PRG leveling kit this week, to gain clearance. I too like the looks of the Toyo Open Country A/T in this size:: LT325/60R18. it says that it will be around a 33.6 OD. Anyone know where to get a price on these?

Mine are basically the same as the Toyos, but with lightning bolts on the sides. $250+/- a tire. The outer diameter isn't going to be what gets you, it will be the width. You won't rub with the tires centered or at full turn. However, at half turn the tires are going to rub like crazy the inside of the tire wells. Mine rubbed and are about 1" more narrow and same outer diameter. THey even rubbed on the grey piece that is the trim for the sidestep. I had to use a heat gun and warp the plastic as much as possible to make mine fit. You'll probably have to cut some out to get yours to fit. I looked at those and considered them before buying the ones I have now. If they made them in a 305/65 I would have gotten them but I couldn't find an A/T in the right size for an 18" wheel. The 17" guys have the 295 and that's a good fit. Hope this helps.

Here are some pics I obtained from this website. I have looked at the 305/60 18's too and I like them a lot. All I am waiting on is to wear the factory rubber to the point where I can convince my wife it is "safety issue."
From what I recall, this guy had a 2-2.5" front lift and did not expericnece sinificant rubbing (as I stated ... from what I recall).

There are a couple of guys running Toyo or Nittos in the 325x60r18 range, it can be done and most of the users say that they did some minor trimming...
For me, probably on my next tire change, I will use nittos 325x70s

Ok, so I don't mind having to trim, as long as it's nothing major. Like say the inner fender needs trimmed, thats fine with me. BUT... I'd also like to keep my mudflaps on there too, is that gonna pose a problem??

Hey 54warrior,
I'm running with the terra grapplers 305/55/20 and have no problems with clearance. I did not have to trim anything and my mudflaps are a good inch to 2 inches away from my tire.

The Terra Grapplers 325/60/18 are about the same diameter with only about 1/2" wider thread, so basically if you choose the right wheel size and offset, you should be right with minor, trimming...

Has anyone ever look at the BFG AT 325/65/18. Looking at the tire calculator they look to be about the same size. Should not be any difference in the speedo . www.4wheelonline.com has them on sale $296.99, buy 3 get 1 free.

Those are 2" taller and 2 1/2" wider. No way you will fit those on a stock truck. You will need a PRG lift, trimming, and maybe they will fit. 6" lift would be better. Mine are smaller and barely rub and stick out the sides 1/2". I needed to heat up the tire wells and flex them to make them fit.
Stock is 10.5" wide, 32.8" Tall
Mine are 12.25 wide, 33.4" Tall
Those are 13" wide, 34.9" Tall.
