Brake Fix!!! Details

I just got off the phone making an appointment for my Titan for the brakes for the 5th time. I was told by the service guy that the new fix is: new pads, new rotors, new caliper kit, and a rear pressure adjustment. As of now, the only way to qualify for the "full fix" is you have to have been back there at least twice in the past for a "quick fix"... This will be my 5th time, so he said I'll definitly get it. They only stock one kit at a time because the demand is so high and the availability is so low. They are only releasing one kit at a time to each dealership to try to build stock for a full recall. When they use this kit on my truck, they will receive one more for the next "emergency". I get it done Wednesday morning, and will give a full report after a drive.

I'll post it again. Most dealers are dragging their feet. The dealer that put the new fix on mine last Friday, on my first ever brake judder visit, gets many more than one kit at a time.

My luck brake story. Got the new Brake upgrade Kit installed today.

I gots 'da judders!!

Hey 1Bad- What dealer/repair shop are you working with? I bought my Tittan at CarMax and have only been back there once for an AC test. The service on other vehicles I have bought from them has been fine, so now that I have contracted the "judders", I hope they'll do a good job.

I'm back and I got the "full recall package." New THICKER rotors, New pads and another new caliper kit. They feel great!!! I honestly cannot tell you how much better they feel. You barley have to step on it now. There is no more mush in the pedal and it stops with little effort. This is the best feeling. I honestly think they have it fixed now. These brakes are PERFECT.

This sounds my exact thoughts when I picked up my new Titan after driving my F150 with its crappy brakes for years. But now my Titan feels mushy like my F150 did now that the pads have seated.
Hopefully the firm feeling you have won't fade with time. Keep us posted.

My Dealers only getting one set of new rotors a week?

My 05 has only 4,500 miles on it. I started to judder about a month ago and I gave the dealer a call.
They told me they get about 4 sets of "rotors" a week, and they would put a set aside for me.
I didn't hear from him.
I called them and they said that now they are only getting "one" set of rotors a week and they gave the last one to someone who was down to the metal.

My question.....

What does that judder, if you keep driving it like that do to the rest of the truck?? Would it knock other things out of whack??

Mine gets worse every day...the wheel shakes....its a really distressing thing when you pay $43,000 for something!!

Crickett

p.s. why the heck would Nissan give them so little and how come they can't keep up with the amount needed? Its aggravating me big time!!

My 05 LeCrew is just starting the judder. I have approimately 3000 miles on the truck. We should all be thankfull for the internet. What a way to communicate issues. Through the fingertips of many. Can you remember the crap we all used to have to go through.
This IS great.

Question Front End

I am dropping mine off tonight for the whole brake fix also. My question is will all of that brake judder effect the alignment of your truck or not? And tho the gentleman that had his rear brakes replaced also, why did they do that?

Part Numbers Please

1Bad,

Could you please post an entire parts list along with part numbers, for those of us who have to get it done, so we are sure we are getting the right rotors, calipers, etc....i dont trust these guys, i think they may try to sluff of new original rotors instead of the new replacements.

I along with everyone else would appreciate the info if its not too much trouble...

thanks

Its in Black & White

TitanNorth
They should be able to show you exactly what they are putting on. I just dropped mine off and Jamie(service mngr.) showed me the TSB. It is not only the front, but also the rear. The print out is about 10 or so pages long. If they are any good or reputable they will show it to you in black and white.
