I believe the reason for that is because of the tire pressure sensors. Seems like there is some dumb reason why they want to only be on one side of the truck.
Rears to the front on the same side, and the fronts to the rear on the other side of the truck. For the verbally challenged

Some people don't cross the tires from side to side due to tread separation concerns. I think they last a lot longer crossed, and if a tread separation occurs, it's likely to be on the rear axle, if this rotation pattern is used.
Then again, lots of vehicles never have the tires rotated.
I've never understood the theory on how cross rotation can cause a separation. I think its an old wives tale..

The way the wive's tale was explained to me is that if it were true, you would be dextroying your tires everytime you drove in reverse. Nice and simple, it is BS.

cross rotate and include the spare......
I'm planning on including my spare ( with a pressure sensor ) in my tire rotatation..and cross rotating......front to back and back to front never worked for me on my last truck and when I started to cross rotate the tires lasted much longer and did not knob-out on the outside edges. Any logical reasons no to? Anyone have a diagram/suggestion with what I plan to do?

I just go front to back and back to front, not crossing from side to side. I got 40k miles on 35" BFG M/T's on a vehicle that didn't align worth a crap using the method.
