what size tires and rims?

i was just wunderin what was the biggest tire and rim i could probly go without putting a level kit on? and then what size to go after i would put a kit on? the reason i am asking for input is cause i am not sure what i want to do first. get a nice set of wheels and tires or level it first.

The outer diameter max would be 33.5" and the width would be 305. If you go wider, you will need flares or mud will be hitting your doors. If you go wider or taller, you will be scraping. My combo maxes out what you can do but there are other combos that do the same: 295-70-17 for example is a good one. 285-65-18 is also if you can find one and so on. This is for stock. If you put a level kit on, you can go 1-1.5" taller. Wider will still give you the spatter problems.

My wheel/tire combo is in my sig. It pretty much fills up the wheel well. Be sure not to have to much offset if you go with 305/55/20.

Try to get as little if any offset. Something less than 12mm should be fine.

the best offset would depend on the width of the wheel that you are buying.

a wheel that is 20"x9" actually has a total widty of 9.5" because of the lip around the edge of the wheel. So if you bought a wheel that was 0 offset you would have 4.75" of backspacing and 4.75" of front spacing. If the offset was +12mm then you're backspacing would be 4.75"+12mm (whatever that is.)

If you bought a rim that was 20"x8" with +12mm offset then your backspacing would be 4.25"+12mm. when it comes to wheel fitment, 1/2" is a big deal.

BTW: my wheels are 9" wide and I have +2mm offset and my tires stick out past the fender about 1/2." I think it looks great. If you do a search for my user name you'll find pictures.

larger wheels & tires

are you willing to sacrifice 15hp for just going to larger tires & wheels?
