No Nittos in the Nation!

Hey all,

I've had a few posts to see if anyone was waiting on Nittos. I have gone through three wholesalers myself and no one has any however none of them have an idea when or where they will get any. I finally broke down and went down to my local 4 Wheel Parts (great store, just always seem a little higher price you know?) and they spent nearly 15 minutes tracking all their warehouses, competitor warehouses and finally called Nitto to get the final answer that there is a national backorder of 6 months to a year!

So either wait or buy something else... I bought something else. I chose some Mickey Thompson MTX 33X12.5R17. Get em' in a few days and since they seem rather rare on this site I will post thoughts and pics.

Wow, I didn't know they were that backordered. I ordered mine from a local tire shop, they got here 2 days later. Glad I went ahead and did it. Is it all sizes? I got the 305/55/20's.

America's tire told me they could get a set of the 295/70-17's Terra Grapplers to my local store in 2 days. I called them last week.

Do you plan on getting the Nittos in 295x70r17?

They told you the same, huh? But when they actually try and get a set they discover they are on back-order?

The Nittos were on my list, but I think I want a more aggressive tire. The Pro Comp X Terrains in 305/65-17 now top my list, but they are $280 per tire...a bit overpriced. Second are the BFG Mudders in 285/75-17 at $215 each.

I really don't care for the looks of the Terra Grapplers...they bore me. But the size made it a candidate. The X Terrain are my first choice but I don't know if they are worth their inflated price. I'll be making my order today so I need to decide. I'll let everyone know what I do and post pics once everything is mounted.

Later.
