Hi there, is anyone tired of the yellow light from the wheel sensors that comes after changing wheels?
I would like to change rims maybe in the future but having that light on for a day last week got me tired...
Anyone?
i put new rims on but i used the stock valves.or the place where u order the rims from can order a piece that keeps ur stock valves attached to the inside of the rim so the light doesnt go on in case u cant use the stock valves.
I replaced rims about 8 months ago and tossed the monitors. Since then, the light only came on twice. Both on the way and on the way back from a 4 hour-long drive. It came on after about 2 hours of driving. During my normal 1 1/2 hour commute, it has never come on.
Comes on every now and then. I rarely notice it and it's almost never on.

I tough the sensor light came on right after the car was turned on... If it comes on after a long drive I think I can manage that, does the alarm also sound when it comes on aftera long drive? that alarm is very loud and freaks people out when it comes on...

The only time the alarm sounds is when the BCM receives the signal from the keyless remote receiver that the tire pressure is low in a given tire. When the BCM receives the signal that there is an error in the system (no tire pressure sensors found), it only lights up the warning light. So no, no sounds.
I never though about this, but for you DIYers, if you rotate the tires, you have to have the system reset. The only way to reset the sensors is with the CONSULT II.
I have rotated tires a few times w/o reset & have had no problems.
Have you had a flat after rotating? If so, did it report the front left and the rear left was really the culprit? It will not error the system to rotate tires and not retraing the system... it just won't report the right tire.
Each transmitter is ID'd to each tire location. So, if you rotate the tires without resetting, the transmitters will still think that they're in the original locations.
They have worked because I did have a tire get low and the alarm and the light went on, but now the light won't go off. I think the problem is I run 45-50 p.s.i. in my LT tires, not the factory 35.

Shouldn't make a difference. The sensors can only have a low limit setting, 28psi from the factory.

All I get is a list of the four tires pressures. It doesn't say which sensor is for which tire, and never has. It seems to be working as the pressures increase a tiny bit after some hgwy driving. Even if it did mis-report tire location, I don't think it would be a big deal to walk around the vehicle and look at the tires to see which one is flat or low. Not somethng I would give the dealer any $ to correct every 5,000 miles. I have an air compressor and check tire pressures every weekend.
