All purpose tire?

I was just thinking about how cool it would be to get the Stillen SC or maybe one day the STS turbo system, but even if one got these upgrades the tires on our trucks probably would not be up to par. Using these upgrades at say the drag strip or even zooming around town may be hard on the stock tires. What speed rating are most truck tires anyway? Probably not high enough to do drag racing or even safely going above 90mph or so. So is there a multi-purpose tire that would give good performance and a high speed rating, while still being a decently agressive (about the same as the stock goodyears or BFGs) tire capable of handling snow and the occasional mud and rocks? With the power that a turbo could produce, the stock tires probably do not have a chance and most people use their trucks for all kinds of things, making a full performance street type tire out of the question. So does such a tire exist? I'm sure if it does it isn't manufactured in the stock 18" wheel range as most good tires are not avalable in this size .

You better choose which style of driving you want more; street/strip or off road.

The stock tires are built to be a blend of light off road and street wear but not high performance on either at all.

Low profile grippers with 20" rims or Deep dish treads on 17"/18" rims...

BFG A/T in 285-65-18 are the best all around on stock 18" rims. Michelin Cross terrain are good for All season. Depends on how aggressive you want. I didn't find tires large enough in A/T for my liking and changed rim size so I could get what I wanted.

How are the BFG tires for performance? I know they are technically an A/T tire, but how are they for high speed driving. Don't get me wrong, I know a BFG A/T tire is not a high performance racing tire, but does it have a high speed rating at least that would make it safe for going to the 1/4 mile track? And is it something that would hook up good on the street?

I had BFG AT/KO's and they are rated I believe have an "S" rating so that's less 112 mph which is what we can go with a governor on the rig...

They're a lot heavier than the stock Goodyears and Rugged Trails TA's... for the strip, you'd better get a whole lot more HP if you want to push 'em down the track....

Speed rating is fine and safe. As for hooking up? No.
The more hook-up you get, the less snow and off road ability you get. You need to find what works for you. If you have a 4x4, you shouldn't have much problems hooking up anyway. You can also modify the electronic diff to lock with a switch which would help out dramatically. But if you notice, track guys use slicks.

I don't go to the track, but I do want a SC on mine. I can't imagine how humiliating it would be to have my Mada with 20" rims and A/T tires rip up ANY TOYoty(which it can almost do now), G35, 350Z, BMW330, Mustang GT, RX8, etc. Lovin' it.

Haha, I agree the supercharger or even better STS tubo would be awesome. I think I'd be able to beat about anything in town around here. The stock tires will have to do for now. I don't have many mile on them so I plan on having them for a few years, just was curious what was out there. Thanks!
