35" spare tire underneath??

Thread title says it all. I'm switching over to BFG, AT 315/70/17, KO's. Ideally, I'd like to get five of them and mount the spare up underneath where it is now. I'm wondering if it would fit if deflated. Someone here mentioned that they thought that it would.

I'm interested to hear if any of you have done this. It looks like it would be close and with being deflated, it just might work. I have a VIAIR, 400P compressor, so I'm not worried about airing it up when the time comes.

Any one done this?

Regards,

John

Wow, 65 views and no responses? There's an awful lot of Titan's out there with 35" wheels. What do you folks do for a spare? Go without? Carry it in the bed? Leave the undersized, stock one in the wheel well?

Noone has tried this?

i'm not running a spare right now. if i did, it would have to be the same setup and i don't think it's worth it. maybe i'll keep one tire (and buy a cheaper, similar spec'd wheel) when these need to be replaced. it also means i need a hi-lift jack as well so i'm just going to risk not having one. my truck hasn't seen any offroad action yet.

Hi John,
We discussed about this and hopefully some members here can help us out. For me, I carry a patch kit and "portable" air compressor in the truck. It would be pain in the @$$ to patch the flat while you are in the middle of nowhere.

I went to 4wheelparts and asked them the hi-lift jack. They said those jacks only for Jeep. It hooks up to the bumber. You can't use it for the Titan. The jack will rip your bumber out. I carry couple short 4x2 wood blocks so I can increase the height for the stock jack.
