Do you rotate your spare?

Do you include your spare tire? ie. a 5 tire rotation vs. a 4 tire rotation?

The spare doesn't have a pressure sensor though.

I recently got a wheel with a pressure sensor so that I can rotate my spare.

I also heard that you weren't supposed to. That's why I'm asking. I have 4wd. Is the only reason that you aren't supposed to because of the loss of indication on one wheel? I heard that if you got a sensor for the spare you would have to go back to Nissan and get them to reprogram the sensors everytime you rotated the tires. Is that correct or can the computer be programed to 5 sensors at the same time?

TPWS seems to be a PITA when it comes to simple rotations as you need 5. Safety is great but better thought out would be nice...Nissan...listening...??

I would also like to know what is needed besides the additional sensor. Is there programming reguired? If so does it have to be done each time to rotate?

Since you got the 5th sensor have you done a computer reset? If you have, does the truck now see all 5 tires? I guess the only way to tell would be to let some air out of each tire one at a time and see if the light comes on.

Re: Do you rotate your spare?

I’m just hypothesizing here, but I would assume that each corner of the truck has a receiver with a very limited range for the TPS, other wise you’d have titans on the Nissan lot that think they have eight wheels when stacked close to each other ( two from the truck on the left, 2 on the right, plus it’s own 4) I would bet the truck doesnt need to know the spare has a sensor when stowed.

Re: Do you rotate your spare?

My spare has no sensor - and the two times I have used it it set the dash light off and I needed to go back to the dealer to have the sensors reprogrammed before it would shut off. Big PITA and additional expense. So - no I will not do a 5 wheel rotation ever on this truck. Matter of fact, I am considering leting all 4 wear out in place and not mess with them unless one goes flat. Life is just too short.
