I'm scheduled to have my truck in w/Greg on Tuesday. I'm getting an 8" CST kit. Why raised a 2wd? Well, I live in so cal, OC to be specific. Everything here is for asthetic purposes.
Question:
I'm getting Eagles 137 17x8. 17x9 would be perfect but they don't make it in that model. Do you think 17x8 are too narrow or 17x10 are too wide?
I want a wider look but not outrageous. Would spacers do for the 17x8? I'm no wheel expert or truck expert, hence the questions. Thanks in advance for all the responses.

Figure out what tires you want, then find the recommended width rim they need. I'm guessing you want 35"-37"?
The Nitto Mud Grapplers in 17" want 10" wide rims for that size range. www.nittotire.com

Probably going w/BFG AT 315/70/17. I heard they fit both 17x8 n 17x10.

I would go with the 17x8. I have procomp version of the 187's 17x9 +2mm offset and my left wheel rubs at full turn. That's just my opinion or you can do some trimming and it will solve all your problems.

They fit 8.5-10" and prefer a 8.5" rim. Kinda wierd the preferred rim size is the bottom of the range. Usually its middle of the range. They also would be 34.5" in diameter, which is pretty small for an 8" lift. You could fit them with a 3" lift. Most guys with 8" go 37" tires. You could go 37x12.5x17 on a 17"x10" rim.

Sorry wasn't talking about the tires just the rims. I have nitto 295's anyway. You guys type faster than me when I read this no one had answered the question.
Here's a pic of a Fabtech lift on AE's website with 137's (315/70/17). I would prefer bigger, but gas n tires are too costly. My question is not bout fitment, but width. How far would 17x10 stick out? And if I used 17x8, to be or not be with spacers?

When I just had the PRG kit on I didnt use a spacer and my tires rub. If I used the spacer they would have stuck out about 3/4". If you have rims specific to the Titan (correct offset) it should be less than that. I have to use the spacers with the CST kit because the rims will rub.

this is a 315 70 17 0n 17x10...
they stick out about 1.5"... now i have flares and they are even with the edge of the flare now..
from past experience with lifted trucks, i would go 33/12.50/r17 or 18 on 17x10 or 18x10,
1) you dont have to re gear
2) wider rims gives you better handling
3) gas
4) get all terrains rather than muds
I'd go 17x8, the 10's stick out too far. I have 17x8 on mine with 4.5" backspacing and 0 offset (which is the way most wheels come) and they stick out about an inch.
