Finally snowed today and was looking forward to tear through it. With my old GMC and the Dueler AT Revo's, there wasn't a drift, incline, or untracked road that stopped me and the old beast. I really can't say that with the 18" Goodyear Wrangler SR-A's. Com'on Bridgestone... lets see some of those 18"Revo's, which in my opinion are one of the best "all around" light duty truck tires out today.

They're that good? Do they last? Maybe I need a set...

Since my 89' Silverado was new I always went with Goodyear MTs because that's what it came with. Last tire change I found that the MTs were no longer available. I went looking at different consumer groups for tires, and the Bridgestone Revo kept appearing with the highest ratings. I bought a set a for the (now) old work truck, and they are the best tires that I have ever used. I have 8K miles on them and they are good in rain, sand, okay in mud. They ride, corner well and are quiet. When the time comes I'll put them on the Titan even if it means a wheel change.
Truely the best out there! But they will cut your gas mileage a bit and were bad enough allready.

"I got a fever...and the only prescription is MORE COWBELL!"
I bit the bullet and went with the 265/70-17 Revo's. (I've got the 17" OR wheels.)
My BFG's were toast at 31K - not too bad for an OEM tire; they did stay quiet, but there are better ways to spend money on tires.
With the 265/70's, I've lost about 1/2" of overall height, but I can't really tell by looking. I'm guessing the height difference was minimized by going from a set of almost completely bald 285's (less than 2/32" left) to brand new 265's.
Some observations:
- As the BFG's wore down, they would scare the h*ll out of me in the rain.
- Last winter, about 12K miles before I replaced them, I had the BFG's out in the snow - I was not impressed.
- The BFG's _did_ do fairly well in the sand - NC outer banks - without airing down. The ABLS actually did it's job in 2WD - I could get the truck moving, even in loose sand. 4WD was awesome.
- On dry pavement, the Revo's seem to handle a bit better and are very quiet. (1.5K miles so far...)
- The Revo's are _great_ in the rain - it's much harder to break the back end loose, and quick stops have a much lower "sphincter factor".
I'm looking forward to the first snow to see how well the Revo's do. I may be heading up to Snowshoe (WV) in a couple of weeks, so I may get my chance then.
If anyone is interested, I'll let you know how they're holding up as time goes by with regards to traction, wear, noise, etc.
Anyone want to see pics? (They'll have to wait 'til tomorrow...)
Yes, let us know what you think and post a pic. I have contacted Bridgestone about making the tires available in the 18" size stating they would likely command the market for 18" Titan replacement tires.
I thought of buying some 17" rims and putting Revo's on, but it is not a cost that I want to bear right now. Snow hasn't been that bad yet and got through 5 1/2" snowfall yesterday okay.

Thats a lot more tire than I need especially at about $260 a pop with mounting and balancing. Need to preserve street tire ride and noise characteristics with some dirt road traction.

Uh, someone just got them for $206 mounted. They are also quieter and softer riding than the stock Goodyear and continental junk. The stock tires are that bad.
BTW, I too wish they made the duelers in our size. When will 18" rims get there just dues. Doesn't everymaker make 18" these days? Give me a break.
I wonder how much more they will charge if they start making Revo's in 18's - I was able to get the Revo 17's for $152 mounted and balanced.
Pics will have to wait - it's been raining for the last 24 hours (WX station says 1.71" of rain) and it's around 34 degrees. No snow in the forecast, though... :-(
