HELP!!! Paint code for the 6-spoke LE wheels???

Help! I need the Nissan paint code for the 6-spoke LE wheels. The dealer says there isn't a color code for the wheels, just the body. WTF?

There has to be a paint color code formulation that Nissan is using to paint these wheels at the factory. I need to know what it is.

I have a scuff on one of my LE wheels that I'd like to touch up. I went to a local paint store to get a color match, but it didn't match the color of the wheels when I sprayed it.

Does anyone know where I can get the exact color code of the wheels??

Are they the gray wheels or the silver painted wheels?

go to a automotive paint dealer that does color match. The downside is you might have to buy a quart. If they are good the color will be exact

They're silver. The LE wheels only come in silver I believe. The SE 5-spoke wheels are the ones that come either in dk. gray metallic or silver.

mick3643,

That's just it. I already went to a local paint shop to get a color match, but it didn't match the color on the rims. I brought the paint back and they're going to adjust the metallic "flop".... whatever that means. I actually brought them the plastic centercap so they can match the paint on it.

Maybe the guy who does the color matching for them is new or something. But, this is becoming a major PITA because I had to remove the mis-matched paint from the rim and then take the paint back to the shop to have it color matched again. Ugh!!

I even contacted the company who makes the wheel centercaps for the Nissan Titan, F.P.E. engineering. They told me that the paint code is propriety information and can only be given out by Nissan's authorization. WTF? Jeez, they act like I'm trying to build nuclear bomb or something.

I thought if I had the actual paint code for the wheels then that would take the "guesswork" out of trying to get a color match for the paint. Oh well....I guess not.

Why don't you just switch it with the spare? My spare is the exact same wheel and tire.

Re: HELP!!! Paint code for the 6-spoke LE wheels???

I would use the spare, but I haven't rotated it with the other wheels/tires yet. If I put the spare on, I'll have one brand new tire with lots of tread and three moderately worn tires with close to 6K miles on them. I could use just the rim and have the tire from the scratched up rim put on. However, that would mean a mounting and balancing for two rims and tires. Right now, I just want to stay away from the local tire chains until I can find one that doesn't damage the wheels when they balance them.

Second, the spare tire rim that I have has a few dings on it from an incompetent service writer. I bought the spare tire lock, but couldn't get it to fit inside the plastic shroud assembly located above the spare tire. I thought if I took it to the dealer, they would know how to install it properly. WRONG!. When the service writer got under the truck, he kept fumbling around with the lock and it dropped a couple of times on the rim.

I'm not sure why I'm having such a difficult time getting a proper color match for the factory rims. It seems the local paint stores around here just eyeball it or something when they do a color match.

I guess I'll have to pay a body shop to fix the wheel or perhaps buy a new rim. I just can't understand why Nissan lists no color code for their wheels. GM usually has color code listing for their wheels.
